However, I like to go to McDonald's for their apple pies! They have a good deal of $1.39 for two baked pies, which comes up to $1.56 after taxes. Today, after having dinner at the village food court, I was looking for something to satisfy my not-so-empty stomach.
I was planning to get apple pies as usual, but they only had one left. The other kind was in a red box, which I assumed it would be some kind of red fruity (strawberry? raspberry perhaps?) pie. When the cashier told me it was choco banana pie, it sounded interesting, so I decided to give it a shot.
Looks like any old McDonald's pie to me~ I cut it into half to see what the inside of the pie looked like...
As I split open the pie, the strong aroma of banana waffled to my nose and it was not bad! The thin layer of chocolate sauce was not really pure chocolate, more like the syrupy "chocolate" sauce that are prominent in donuts and such.
I took a bite and the banana custard flavour overtook the taste of the chocolate sauce. It was quite an interesting mouthful of banana. The flaky crust of McDonald's apple pies are always good. And it satisfied the underlying hunger my stomach was experiencing.
So there, I've tried the choco banana pie from McDonald's! I still prefer the original apple pie though. Speaking of which, I have that saved for breakfast tomorrow! ;)
P.S. - that tricky red box turned out to say "Baked Pie" on it, though it had illustrations of various fruits on it. Still makes me think of raspberry pie!
